DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Faculty of Information Technology is one of the oldest faculties of CVRU. The Department of Information Technology and Computer Science comes under the Faculty of IT. It was established in the year 2007 with the objective of producing IT and CS professionals of international standard and to primarily fulfill requirements of the booming IT industry and develop researchers. We provide quality and skill-based education to the students. Faculties are adequately qualified and are the strength of the department. The Department of IT and CS runs various courses like BCA, DCA, PGDCA(General), PGDCA(Professional), M.Sc. (Information Technology) and M.Sc. (Computer Science). We have also offered Ph.D. research programmes in Information Technology and Computer Science. Course curriculum designed for Information Technology and Computer Science courses covers all necessary technical and academic areas of Information Technology and Computer Science which not only includes theoretical understanding of concepts but practical training is moconducted in all courses. These Programmes aim to offer significant flexibility and diversity for students.

CLASSROOMS

The IT-enabled Teaching-Learning pedagogy employed in the smart classrooms and the standard array of presentation equipment in every smart classroom give our educators the best multimedia resources for their instructional needs.

SPORTS FACILITY

We believe that sports are an effective teaching tool when it comes to inculcating a sense of teamwork among the students. There are a plethora of sports activities to choose from like Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Table Tennis, and Basketball. Our playground facilities and the physical education faculty ensures that any form of sports talent does not go unnoticed and through provisions like regular trials, referrals to corporate teams and campus level tournaments, the spirit of healthy competition and teamwork is nurtured.

SEMINAR HALL

The University offers a seminar hall that is fully furnished, air conditioned, and equipped with cutting-edge technology. Computers, sound systems, LCD projector, etc. are some of them. This space is used by the students and teachers for guest lectures, interactive workshops, and project presentations.

LIBRARY

The Department has a well-stocked library with 500 books on a variety of topics in the Computer Science arena. Besides books, the library possesses tools and technology CDs, journals, project and seminar reports, lab manuals and question banks. The collection is strong in all aspects, with special strengths in C, C++ programming, Python, Java Programming, FoxPro programming, Microsoft visual studio, C#.net, VB.net, Asp.net, Software Engineering, Automata Theory, System Programming, Computer Architecture and Organization, Data Structures, Microprocessors, Database Management System, Java Programming, Computer Networking, Data Security, Artificial Intelligence, Biometric Security, etc.

HOSTELS

The University provides separate accommodation for both boys and girls from outside Bilaspur. The campus incorporates residential buildings in close proximity to the departments, library and classrooms to facilitate easy access. All rooms are well-furnished and come with an attached bath. Mess facilities are also available for which separate monthly payment will be accrued from the respective students. The student must submit his preferences for accommodation early in the process of admission.

CAFETERIA

Dr. C.V. Raman University houses two canteens- a cafeteria and a dining hall on the campus. The cafeteria provides snacks and tea whereas the dining hall is meant for lunch and dinner with both veg and non-veg food options available.

PRACTICAL LABS

Departmental Computer Labs consist of Licensed Software under Microsoft campus agreement and MATLAB with Simulink Performance Tools like Image Processing Toolbox, Neural Network ToolBox, Wavelet Transforms Toolbox, Filter Design Toolbox, and Communication Toolbox.
