OVERVIEW

The Institute of Law Dr. C.V. Raman University, Kargi Road Kota, and Bilaspur (C.G.) was established in 2011 with the objective to provide qualitative legal education. The Institute offers LL.B., B.A.LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. degree in Law. Institute has excellent facilities of Research in Law and presently more than a dozen scholars have been enrolled in Ph.D. Degree.

Institute is having well equipped furnished spacious building with large number of classrooms, lecture halls, Moot Court, Legal Aid Clinic, smart classroom and a well-equipped library. The Institute is imparting Legal Education using modern techniques. It cultivates and infiltrates legal aptitude of the students aiming to make them excellent advocates and resources, who would act as champions for law and justice.The Institute has been conducting legal literacy camps, moot court competitions and other activities which are helpful to inculcate legal aptitude in the students.

The faculty members of Institute work more as guide and counsellors creating an environment of personal relationship and contribute to the growth and personality of the students.The Institute has fully equipped library other than Central Library of the University.The library of the Institute has sufficient books, journals, periodicals and other literature.In the Institute well equipped Computer Lab with Legal software, are also present.

The students at the Institute exhibit praiseworthy performance in various all India moot court competitions.The Institute undertakes the placement of students through campus interviews.The Institute encourages its students to organize and participate in co-curricular activities moot court and moot performance on burning socio-legal problems, human rights etc.

FACILITIES
Classroom

A state-of-the-art infrastructural facility is an essential ingredient to support sound process of teaching & learning. Classroom at Law are designed and equipped with the modern teaching facilities like public address system, , Projectors and boards.
The classrooms are spacious enough, well lit, well ventilated and accommodated with the nice tiered sitting arrangements to facilitate proper teacher-student interaction.
In order to improve and maximize instructional effectiveness, the following equipment has been installed in those rooms:

Sports Facilities

Sports and Exercise will be intrinsically tied to the years students spend at CVRU University. The process of creating truly global citizens is well underway at the sports fields in the University. This unique process does not only provide state-of-the-art sports facilities but also encourages sports to be taken up by one and all. True transformation can only take place when students are able to push themselves out of their comfort zone. This process demands learning more about themselves before they even attempt to change anything around them.

Seminar Hall

The Department has a well-furnished adequately spacious and magnificent Seminar Hall with a sitting capacity of 300 students at a time. The Hall is well equipped with all facilities like a projector, audio-visual, aids and amplifiers etc. The department keeps on inviting from time-to-time renowned academicians and intellectuals in different spheres for addressing the students and the teaching staff on various subjects, topics of academic and other co-related pursuits with a view to widen the horizon of knowledge of the students and the staff as well. Competitive programmes in difference academic spheres are also organized to give an exposure to their talents, potentialities, and overall development of the students.

Library

Library is the core centre for intellectual upgrading of the students and staff of the institution. The institute has been keenly interested and devoted to develop its library. The Library of the Institute is situated on the ground floor of the building for easy access. It is spacious with total 3051 sq ft of area. It is well lit and nicely ventilated providing a comfortable atmosphere.
The library is well stacked and systematically organized. It is the heart of our institution and plays a crucial role in all academic and co -curricular activities. It is dedicated to provide expert services to the student community with legal research guidance and to look forward to assist students and researchers for their legal research.

Moot Court

The moot court is now an integral part of every university's law curriculum. It is included as part of the practical syllabus and training paper. The goal of making it a required subject is to familiarise law students with various procedural aspects. It allows students to prepare their own arguments and present them before an expert called a Judge. On the one hand, it gives students the opportunity to learn the law, drafting skills, how to present the case before the Judge, manners and eticates, and so on; on the other hand, it gives students the confidence to argue the case before the Judge.

Hostel Facility

The University provides separate accommodation for both boys and girls from outside Bilaspur. The campus incorporates residential buildings in close proximity to the departments, library and classrooms to facilitate easy access. All rooms are well-furnished and come with an attached bath. Mess facilities are also available for which separate monthly payment will be accrued from the respective students. The student must submit his preferences for accommodation early in the process of admission.
Currently, the hostel of the University houses more than 150 students. The hostel has all the facilities- with a main office, security room and a guest house. It has all the basic amenities so that the students can get a comfortable place after a tiring day. Common rooms are provided with TV sets, carom boards and other recreational and amusement facilities. The University also runs a fleet of busses to help the students and staff members for easy commuting.

Cafeteria

Dr. C.V. Raman University houses two canteens- a cafeteria and a dining hall on the campus. The cafeteria provides snacks and tea whereas the dining hall is meant for lunch and dinner with both veg and non-veg food options available. The Catering Services also plans and executes numerous on-Campus events’ food and beverage requirements. Team Dining at CVRU aims at giving every Cvruian a varied and satiating culinary experience.
