The department of Pure and Applied Mathematics started functioning in the year 2006. It has established itself as an excellent centre for research and teaching in Algebra, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Functional analysis, Topology, Fixed point theory, Fuzzy Set Theory and Mathematical Modeling under the active participation and guidance of dedicated faculty members. The department regularly revises and upgrades curriculum (UG/PG and Ph.D.) by introducing many new aspects of mathematics. The faculty members of the department have the record of pursuing and completing collaborative/interactive research work with many eminent mathematicians of the country and other part of the world.
The vision of the department is to develop computational and problem-solving skill among the students so that they can easily understand the basic concept of mathematics and are able to apply It not only to solve the problems in mathematics but are also able to solve problems in their real life.
The mission of the department is to provide an environment where student can learn and become competent users of mathematics and continue to grow as a scholars and mathematical thinkers and moreover of this they can work as a mathematical resource for this state/nation.s
