C.V Raman University, Bilaspur was set up as the first private university in Chhattisgarh on 3rd November 2006 and inaugurated in October 2007. The university is now a part of the All India Society For Electronics and Technology (AISECT). Undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses under various streams are offered at the university. Excellence in the fields of education and research is of utmost importance to the university. C.V Raman University gives students the option to study in both regular and distance mode of education as all the courses are available in both formats. The campus has labs that are fully equipped and a library that houses books on every topic that a student can need. The university also has hostel facilities and cafeterias for the students.

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in all the technical and non technical courses for all the streams available. These courses are available for study in regular and distance mode of education. Admission to any course is on a first come first serve basis. For technical courses, admission is based on AJEE scores. The admissions start in March and continue till August.
