Dr. C. V. Raman University, Bilaspur, organized a one-day academic discussion on the theme “Contribution of Chhattisgarhi Literature to the Development of Hindi Literature.” The event was held under the joint aegis of Vanmali Srijan Peeth, the Department of Language and Literature, the Chhattisgarhi Folk Art and Culture Centre, the Chhattisgarhi Research and Creative Studies Chair, and the Rabindranath Tagore World Art and Culture Centre.
Renowned Hindi literature and journalism scholar Dr. Sudhir Sharma, Head of the Department of Hindi and Journalism at Kalyan College, Bhilai, was present as the keynote speaker. In his address, Dr. Sharma emphasized that Chhattisgarh, including the Bilaspur region, is exceptionally rich in literature, art, and cultural traditions. He recalled the publication of literary magazines such as Chhattisgarh Mitra from nearby Gaurela-Pendra in the 1990s, a time when resources were limited, yet literary creativity flourished.
