Marking a significant step toward nurturing next-generation library professionals, the Shri J. P. Chaubey Central Library at Dr. C. V. Raman University, Kota, inaugurated its Library Internship Programme on July 8, 2026, and will be concluded by August 13, 2026. The programme brought together 30 enthusiastic trainees from diverse universities and colleges, offering them an engaging, hands-on learning environment focused on building practical expertise and technological competence. Participants gained in-depth exposure to core and advanced library operations, including administration, acquisition, cataloguing, classification, indexing, library management systems, RFID-enabled circulation, digital libraries, institutional repositories, e-resource management, automation, documentation, stock verification, and user services. Enriched with interactive sessions, demonstrations, and collaborative activities, the training also introduced emerging areas such as AI-powered library services and modern research support systems. Emphasizing the evolving role of libraries as innovation and knowledge hubs, Registrar Dr. Arvind Kumar Tiwari highlighted the programme’s relevance in preparing students for future challenges, while Central Librarian Dr. Sangeeta Singh reaffirmed its commitment to delivering real-world exposure and excellence in service practices, positioning the initiative as a strong testament to the university’s vision of developing skilled, adaptable, and future-ready library professionals.
