Program Overview

The courses of M.A two year (Four semester) successfully running. The medium of instruction in the classroom teaching as well as in the examinations is both English and Hindi. The performance of the students has been excellent through these years. In this process the courses organize several lectures by noted historians and eminent academicians in the field. On the occasions various events related to the historical importance and dates associated with great personalities, the courses organize seminars and conferences. Apart from these activities the course also takes its students for educational tours to the Library, historical places and archaeological importance and thus makes them acquaint and closer to the knowledge of history. With the motive of all round personality development of the students and to generate community feelings amongst them. Sometimes students go to mini archeological sites with the teachers. Teachers and students collaborate with the other institutions in the national level.

PSO1 : The Students will be familiar with the conventions of diverse textual genres including fiction, non- fiction, poetry, autography, biography, journal, film, play, editorials etc. 

PSO2 : To provide a brief historical survey of the development of modern linguistics and the use of linguistics in different areas.

PSO3 : They will develop inter-lingual language by initiating to translate texts form regional languages.

PSO4 : On successful completion of the programme, the students will be accurate both in oral and written communication as they will be strong in grammar and its usage.

PEO1 : The objective of the master programme in English is to develop proficiency in the languages and reach a level of proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

PEO2 : The objective of the programme is to develop awareness of the nature of language and literature and its role in human society

PEO3 : The objective of the master’s programme is to provide awareness on the role of literature in addressing contemporary issues such as environmental concern, and gender issue.
